Importance of Related Products in B2B Ecommerce for Sales Growth

Introduction

The success of your #B2Bcommerce firm is dependent on selling the right products to the appropriate consumers. Displaying recommended related products draws customers' attention to additional products in your store that they might be interested in. This encourages them to try those products, which raises the average order value.

You can also leverage the related product functionality in your online store to recommend products to customers and increase sales.

What are Related Products?

Related products are items that are recommended in addition to the item that the customer is currently viewing. These items are intended to supplement and aid in the use of the primary product. The goal is to get customers to buy more.

Cross-Selling vs Up-Selling vs Related Products

The activity or practice of selling an extra product or service to an existing customer is known as cross-selling. It's also been noted that various businesses interpret #crossselling in a variety of ways. These products are known as 'related products, "similar products,' or 'accessories' in online retail. It's something your customers didn't intend to purchase when they visited your online business. They appear on the cart page beneath the cart products table with a thumbnail image, depending on your theme template.

Below is an example of the 'Cross Sells' on the cart page.

#Upselling is a sales tactic in which a vendor presents the customer with more expensive things or upgrades in order to generate a more successful sale. It includes the same things at a greater price, quality, or with additional features, and so on. Depending on your theme template, these products display on the single product page underneath the product’s description.

Below is an example of the 'UpSells' on the product page.

As you can see, the primary distinction is that upselling encourages clients to purchase a better and more expensive version of the product they intended to purchase. The other two words encourage buyers to purchase additional things. To all of these product recommendations, we can readily apply the definition 'related products,' in my humble opinion.

Conclusion

Related products can be useful and valuable to both merchants and customers. Related items help to develop buyer relationships, and enhance average order value, and income. To obtain all of these benefits, firms must first offer items that are relevant to the demands of their customers. Customers gain satisfaction and a better buying experience when they shop online.
